A-Game, or A-Game is a term used to describe the optimal mental state when playing a poker game. A-Game is not only an optimal mental state, but also one in which players can maximize their profits.
A Backdoor is a draw that requires two consecutive cards to complete. The first upcard is called the door card, and is dealt to the player. This upcard is also visible to the rest of the table. If a player has a door card, he can choose to either draw from the deck or use the community cards.
A cold deck is a run of cards that is not good. A counterfeit situation refers to losing value after other cards are dealt. In some situations, a player can redraw for a larger pot using the top two cards of the deck.
A donk bet is a bet that is made by a player who is outside of their normal betting range. This is particularly applicable in the case of a flop bet. This is an instance where the bettor is attempting to bluff their opponent on a later street.
An effective stack is the smaller of the two stacks in play. In a cash game, this is the amount of chips that a player can wager. In a tournament, the amount of chips that a player can use to make a bet is determined by the size of the buy-in. In the case of a flop bet, a player can only make a bet as many chips as the smallest of the two stacks is worth.
A flop is the second betting round in a community card game. The community cards are placed in the middle of the table. The bettor must match the existing wager before he can call. The term “backraise” is also applied to this action. In a flop bet, a bettor can re-raise after a player calls the initial bet. A continuation bet is an action that is taken after the last aggressor on the previous street.
A dead man’s hand is a hand that is not viable. It is also a term for the cards that are dealt during the flop. Depending on the scenario, this could be a good or bad hand.
